The DBS is Aston Martin’s lightweight high-performance 2-seat coupe that combines the race-bred technology of the DBR9 and DBRS9 with the DB line of elegant coupes that can be traced back to the DB2 and the DB4 GT.
Based on the same VH architecture as the DB9 and DBR race cars that combines pressed, extruded and cast aluminum components, the DBS structures is rigid but lightweight.
The DBS is the first Aston Martin to make extensive use of ultra-light carbon-fiber body panels and the front mid-engine layout combined with a rear-mounted transaxle, results in a near-perfect weight distribution with 85 percent of the total weight within the wheelbase.
The DBS has wider front and rear tracks than the DB9, with a new front bumper design and a carbon-fiber splitter.
